A Funny Thing Happened at the Soccer Field
Actually, it really isn’t that funny. I broke my wrist in two places in a soccer game five weeks ago yesterday: the scaphoid and the hamate. An overeager striker pushed me in the back as I cleared the ball, I went tumbling to break the wrist and came close to really hurting my left knee in the process.
Nice thing about the scaphoid - its a beeyatch to heal. I’ve had the cast on for over a month and am probably looking at sometime around Christmas to get it off. Thank goodness for the BBC though - they point out that Becks broke the same bone and recovered fully (that’s him wearing #7 about halfway down).
Try changing a diaper with a thumb spica cast on. its fun for you and your child. At least mine only goes to the elbow, not the shoulder…
Anyway - I haven’t been so much for typing lately, and am still hunting-and-pecking with great frustration and frequent spell-checking. Hence, the lack of activity around here. We’ll see about working on that.
In Other News:
- Happy Anniversary to Us! Yesterday was our six year anniversary. We celebrated with a bottle of wine and Steak-Out, cause we know how to party. And because our babysitter called in sick the day before. (Sound familiar? It is. But, with a different sitter, and a legitimate reason this time.) We tried several others, but to no avail. Always next year, right?
- Dobbs has teeth. Two of them, on the bottom. Very sharp.
- Chad learned 10 Things. Check out our man Chad in his Portico debut - 10 Things I’ve Learned Renovating the Rialto Theatre. And then check out the Rialto Rennovation.
Oh, by the way, and back to the soccer game - I must point out that I was hurt in the first half, but played the remainder of the game, which we won in a come-from-behind victory. Some of you may wonder why these details are important; many others are silently nodding and are pleased to read it.
