Reilly: Boy-Genius (?)
This afternoon, MR and Reilly played some games on the Sesame Street site. One of the games is about choosing words that rhyme: you are given a word and then try to match it to four other words, only one of which rhymes with the first.
They started playing, and Reilly got the first two correct; with no hesitation in his response, as though at three years old putting together words that rhyme is, well, child’s play.
MR says at this point, she was impressed.
On the third try, the word to match was “moon.” The options were “snail,” “spoon,” “car,” and “turtle.” Reilly promptly chose snail, then turned to MR for affirmation.
MR looked at him for a long time. Finally she said - “You have no idea what rhyming is, do you?” And he laughed and laughed and laughed.
So, score one for lucky. Hold your horses on the super scholarship announcements.
