Getting Organized: Compact Disc Edition
For a long time now, our CD collection has been on the floor in the guest room, in the corner, stacked up against the wall. Largely useless. Almost completely impossible to use. But I have a plan.
The first step was moving them to the dining room table.
Happy Birthday Dobbs!
Dobbs turned two today; the picture above is him trying to show me two fingers… what can we say, its a work in progress.
We spent the evening at Recreation Station, then headed over to Johnny Rockets for a later-than-usual dinner with some friends. All in all, the Dobber seemed to really enjoy his day, and his presents…particularly a certain Lightening McQueen car.
The best part of the day is the fact that Dobbs refuses to admit that he’s two. He is four. Or six. Once he said seven, but mostly he says four. MR and I can’t stop laughing long enough to try to talk some sense into him…
Me: Dobbs, how old are you today?
Dobbs: Four (pronounced “fou”)
M: No, silly, you’re not four, you’re two.
D: No, Rei two, Rei two (Reilly two)
I tricked him at supper by asking anyone who is two to raise their hands. At first, he was all over it, but then he realized what I was doing and stopped. Priceless.
Snow!

That’s right, folks: Snow. In Alabama. Accumulating (well, sort of).
Throughout most of the world, snowfall is measured in inches, or even feet, but here in the Heart of the Southland, we prefer to measure snowfall in terms of minutes-the-snow-falls. We find that really brings up our averages. Yesterday, we witnessed almost 15 minutes of snowfall. 15 minutes! And, as you can see in the photo, and in this one, we had accumulation (on car windows).
And the kids loved it, too. They ran around for a few minutes and then we packed them off to school.
Where I Am
While I was looking for a photo of the Jeff Tweedy concert from last weekend1, I found this nice shot of the Birmingham skyline. My office is in the second tall building from the right (the one with the pointy-thingys on it).
